Last week, ESL Library, along with several other Winnipeg digital technology industry leaders, traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to participate in the tech talent recruitment mission. Argentina was chosen because of high English proficiency in the industry, availability of educated and skilled tech talent, and interest in immigration to Canada.

The goal of this mission, organized and led by YES Winnipeg Economic Development (in conjunction with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programme), was to find and recruit top tech talent from Argentina. We were looking to find highly skilled tech professionals that would enrich and expand our dev team and bring more expertise and fresh new ways of thinking to our existing Winnipeg team.

We’ve received a lot of support from the Manitoba provincial government that would help our company attract and retain higly skilled tech professionals. These candidates will be able to work, settle, and start their lives in Winnipeg, Canada, on a permanent basis.

Being in Argentina was really exciting for us. We got to meet with many interesting people, learn about local culture, and introduce our company to the Argentinian tech community. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback about our company’s work culture, the quality of our product and design, and our vision for the future. Now more than ever, we feel positive and energized about the future of technology in education in the global field, and we are making sure we will continue to build the strongest team to lead our way in this industry.
